Over here at NYLON Singapore, we have the privilege of testing out a variety of facials and spa treatments now and again, in a quest to suss out the best, so we can tell you about it, of course. Here are the three that we enjoyed the most, assessed by factors such as the skill of the therapist, how the products made our skin feel after, and whether we fell asleep during the treatment – a sure sign that it’s sufficiently relaxing.
The Body Shop Green Sanctuary Wild Argan Sensorial Body Treatment

If you weren’t aware that The Body Shop had a spa, we didn’t either, before trying this treatment out. It’s a relatively low profile one, hidden in the back of their Paragon store. But go through the door, and you enter a full-fledged spa with an extensive menu of facial and body treatments, all using the brand’s proprietary ranges, of course.
The one we tried made use of the incredibly fragrant Argan Oil body care range, and is inspired by Middle Eastern bath rituals and includes a full body massage (including scalp and hands), a short steam session in their wooden cabins, and a hair treatment that will leave your tresses smelling so good. It’s definitely a fully sensorial experience, and the argan oil will leave your skin deeply nourished as well.

CHANEL Espace Beauté Moisturising Cocoon Face Treatment

Who wouldn’t want to try a Chanel facial? This was every bit as luxurious as you’d expect, and it was our therapist’s evident skills that impressed us – Chanel facials never include the use of tools on your skin; only the therapist’s highly-trained hands are allowed to massage and lightly pinch to achieve the desired lifting and firming effects. The main goal of the Moisturising Cocoon treatment is to moisturise and replenish the skin, so many of Chanel Beauty’s hydrating products, such as the Hydra Beauty Micro Serum, were used. Neck, shoulder and hand massages are also part of the treatment, and when experienced in the dim warm lighting of SEVIIN at TANGS, TANGS at Tang Plaza’s luxury beauty services floor, we were soon lulled into an afternoon nap…

d’skin Power Vital Face Lifting Treatment
120 mins, $268
This facial involved the application of a placenta essence in a gel form over the entire face, and it left obvious brightening and lifting effects. This one is d’skin’s signature facial, and we can safely say it was well worth the two hours spent. Besides the placenta, the rest of the facial was made up of the typical steps such as cleansing, exfoliating, and an extraction that was made a lot less unbearable by the skilled hands of the therapist – no metal tools used here – even though we had a lot to extract that day. Extractions can be scary in the hands of someone who’s not as well-trained, but there was no doubt at all we were in very safe hands at d’skin.
