You’ve read the books, and you’ve watched (and re-watched) all five seasons. You’ve heard of the rumours and even came up with your own theories. Well then, to help you tide over the agonising wait of the Season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones, HBO Asia will be bringing an exclusive interactive event to Singapore for you to immerse yourself into the world of Westeros. Best part of it all? The event is free!
The Game of Thrones: Ascend the Wall virtual reality experience, powered by Oculus Rift, will take you on a journey up the Wall. You’ll get to step into a physical recreation of the Castle Black winch elevator where you will don the Oculus Rift headset and a pair of headphones. You’ll then be taken up 700 feet to the top of the Wall, where you can look out to the Seven Kingdoms or walk to the other side to take in the view of the land beyond the Wall.
A first for Asia, the Game of Thrones Experience: World of Westeros (#GOTAsiaWOW) will also include a display of weapons from the series like the Oathkeeper (given to Brienne of Tarth by Jaime Lannister), Arya Stark’s Needle, Ned Stark’s Ice and the White Walker sword, a replica of the Iron Throne that you can sit on and experience, original storyboards and concept art and photo opportunities with Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon, Drogon.
The Game of Thrones Experience: World of Westeros (#GOTAsiaWOW) will take place from 2-7 April, 10am-10pm at ION Orchard, Basement 4 Atrium. StarHub customers will be given priority to experience the Game of Thrones: Ascend the Wall – Oculus Rift virtual reality experience as well as photo opportunities with the Iron Throne and Drogon.
The sixth season of Game of Thrones will air at the same time as the US, exclusively on HBO (StarHub TV Ch 601), on 25 April at 9am, with a same-day primetime encore at 9pm. It’ll also be available on HBO GO on StarHub Go and HBO On Demand.
