Following all the April Fools’ aftermath, we’re psyched to announce that… The Singapore Comedy Fringe Festival is back! As the folks over at Comedy Club Asia will tell you – standup is no joke (lawl); which is precisely why they’ve gone the distance and brought in the best regional and international comedic talents for a five-day standup extravaganza. From 26 to 30 April, be tickled by ten different shows featuring more than 25 standup comedians from around the globe.
Ardent fans of the genre will be pleased to see standup veterans in the lineup like Harith Iskandar from Malaysia, Paul Ogata from the USA, and UK’s Matt Kirshen – as well as rising stars from Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Hong Kong, in an effort to discover and celebrate burgeoning young talents in the region. (FYI, Singaporean standup isn’t just Kumar.) And whether you’re a hardcore comedy creature or just a first-timer looking for laughs, the Comedy Fringe Festival promises an entertaining program for everyone. After all, laughter is the best medicine.
