Move Over Kimoji – MuvaMoji Is The Next Big (NSFW) Thing

If you thought Kimojis were unsettling, get ready for some real sensitive content.
Amber Rose’s emoji app MuvaMoji was released just days ago, and is already making waves in the Internet community for its explicit imagery and heavily pointed social commentary. With over 900 unique images, it’s a lot to pick from for only US$1.99. There’s twerking, BDSM featuring very, err, submissive males, and even animated pole dancing (a “tribute” to the model’s stripper days, probably). Most contentious of all, though, has to be the single, straightforward mugshot of a grim-faced Bill Cosby holding up the sign “I DID IT” – which no doubt highlights Amber Rose’s stance on the whole case. Talk about putting the ‘graphic’ in graphics.

Don’t bother giving MuvaMoji flak for “copying” Kimoji though. For one, Amber Rose has made it clear that both women don’t view the other as competition in the app store, and that the emojis are tailored to the different qualities each socialite’s fan base supports them for. If anything, MuvaMoji has proven to be a lot more inclusive, in allowing users to customise skin colours and sizes of most of the emojis. And that said, our humble hats off to Amber Rose for reaping in a whopping $4 million on the app store since MuvaMoji’s release. That’s a lot of dough to be getting for simply giving the world some new NSFW emojis to pimp up their text messages.
