This just in: the feisty award-winning P!nk will be taking the stage at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards – performing none other than what’s gonna be the world television debut of her new single “Just Like Fire”. If the song sounds familiar, it’s because it will feature in Disney’s upcoming film Alice Through The Looking Glass, which brings back your favourite star-studded cast and characters from the 2010 film, in an all-new topsy-turvy adventure. So of course, what better songstress to ring in the festivities with a global performance than the pop icon whose very name matches her vibrant personality?
Also, you can’t have an awards show without a titillating lineup of nominees fighting to the death to bring home the prize, so you can bet how psyched we were to find out who’s up for what. Leading the pack is The Weeknd with 16 nominations (shocker, really), followed by The Biebs with 11. That said, we’ve also got our eye on Adele and Taylor Swift, who’re both going in with nominations in eight categories – let’s hoping that if the latter wins again (and she probably will; girl’s got 20 Billboard wins in the bag), she’ll lay low on the shady acceptance speeches.
The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will broadcast live from Las Vegas on May 23, Monday at 8am (7am JKT/BKK) on RTL CBS Entertainment HD, and will be hosted by Ciara and Ludacris (what a pair!) Get excited, people.
