LINE FRIENDS Are Collaborating With Vans

It seems like top mobile messenger application, LINE, is leaving no stones unturned. With a billion users in total and 215 million active users all around the world, it’s not surprising that about 2.4 million stickers are sent in daily conversations, making sticker characters like LINE FRIENDS essential for communication. They’ve already appeared on a variety of products, ranging from plushies, notebooks and even cookies (and with Julie’s Biscuit, no less) – all part of making a huge name for themselves; particularly in Asian countries like Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand and of course, Singapore. The huge success they’ve garnered has caused the parent company to separate LINE FRIENDS as an independent company, in an effort to expand the business.

This time round, LINE FRIENDS announced its first collaboration outside of Asia with well-known American brand, Vans. Both brands share the same principle of creative expression. Brown, Cony and the rest of the gang decided to go wild in their Vans as they each try to find out about their roots in everything that Vans stands for – action sports, art, music and street culture. These characters appear on the canvases of the iconic Authentic, Slip-On and Sk8-Hi silhouettes, each expressed in their own individual way. Brown is seen picking up a guitar while Cony walks around with a spray can in hand. Sally on the other hand, has a surprising ability that will pleasantly shock LINE FRIENDS’ fans – she’s actually a pretty sick surfer and skateboarder, as seen on the Authentic canvas. Last but not least, the entire cast is represented on the Sk8-Hi, featuring the characters individually expressing their own wild side.
