If you’re running out of space in your makeup stash, it’s time to start purchasing double-duty beauty products that can fulfil more than just a single purpose. Besides saving space, you’ll get to cut back your spending.
1. Base makeup and Sunscreen
Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF 30, $53, available at Clinique counters.
It’s a hassle trying to protect your skin from the sun’s harsh UV rays and more often than not, we tend to forgo the most important step of our skin care. Try a base that already includes sun protection – this way, you can avoid wasting time by applying two different layers. We also love colour correctors that gives your skin a healthy glow by correcting any complexion problems, according to your skin tone. That’s a real deal, really.
2. Eyeshadows
Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette, $72, Sephora. Moonshot Jelly Pot in Sparkling Rose, $34, Sephora.
Palettes:
So many ways to use an eyeshadow palette that will definitely justify the high price you’ve paid. Using an angled brush, line your eyes with the darkest shade for a eyeliner that’s less harsh and sharp. This will give your eyes a softened look that’s more natural. Also, apply the lightest shade on your palette as a highlighter – on the bridge of your nose, the inner corners of your eyes, your cupid’s bow, as well as just above your cheekbones. Alternatively, matte brown shadows can double up as bronzers. Swipe them on your cheekbones to sculpt your face.
Pots:
Pot shadows usually have really rich textures – which are great for a cheek application as well. Tiny swipes with your fingers will do the trick, and its creamy application will give you the “no makeup” makeup look, which is always a plus.
3. Brown eyeliner
Make Up For Ever Kohl Pencil, $34, Sephora.
Other than lining your eyes, brown eyeliners can be used for contouring or filling in your brows when you’re out of brow pencil.
4. Lip and Cheek
3CE Lip Pigment, $22, Sephora. Nudestix Lip/Cheek Pencil, $37, Sephora.
Lip products that double up as blushers are the most useful products ever. We’re talking about stains, creams and tints for the job. Besides, these blushers will look more glowy on your skin, as compared to a powder blush. All you need to do is to blend the product on your cheeks with your fingers and you’re good to go! These are made for lazy folks out there; now you can avoid the trouble of finding matching lip and cheek shades when you can apply the same product on both. Yay!
5. White eyeliner
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil, $10, Sephora.
An essential in your makeup stash. Other than waterlining and highlighting the inner corners of your eyes, a good jumbo white eyeliner can be applied as the base of your eyeshadow for a shimmering effect. Also, trace it just above and below your brow bone for a refreshing glow.
