IGNITE! Music Festival
Back for its ninth run, the people at Republic Polytechnic and The Republic Cultural Centre (TRCC) are back at it again to organise this student-led, student-driven outdoor music festival. Featuring familiar local music bands such as Take Two, THELIONCITYBOY, Disco Hue and Plainsunset, you’re definitely in for an exciting gig with such a lineup of amazing local music. Besides, how often do you see such a large-scale music event in a school campus anyway?

“She Ain’t Heavy, She’s reaching Into Space”
Talented artists Faye Lim and Eng Kai Er will hold a personal discussion on performance, perform it, and debrief it afterwards. Through this, you’ll realise the integral role that discussion plays in performance-making, where both Faye and Kai will reveal their creative thoughts, as well as blur the line between studio and stage, rehearsal and performance, process and result. It’ll definitely be an informative session for avid theatre fans.

ATTAGIRL! 3rd Anniversary Party
ATTAGIRL! will be celebrating their 3rd Anniversary this Saturday, with a massive entertainment of local and regional DJs and live acts and artists. Established as part of a movement to create a viable platform for females in the music and art industry, it serves as an empowering space for these females, as well as an inspiration for other local female creatives that have hopeful aspirations. Held at Blu Jaz cafe, the event spans across 2 floors, promising an exciting night of indie, house and hiphop. There’ll also be an exhibition of customised jackets in collaboration with Levi’s, featuring 6 local illustrators, and all proceeds from the jackets will be donated to donated to Andrew & Grace Home – a home for delinquent and underprivileged teenage girls.

Park Bench Deli Turns One!
The delicious sandwich deli will be celebrating their many milestones at their anniversary party, with a Grub Food Platter ($15) that includes only good stuff such as Tuna Tartare Sandwiches, Ham and Cheese Balls and Torched Wagyu Beef and Glutinous Rice as well as wine, bottled and draft beers at only $10. Besides food, there’ll be great music by DJs Nez and Rah. Needless to say, it’ll be a good vibes only event with both music and a good amount of sandwiches to indulge in. We’re in for sure.
