Colour Blocking: The Latest Beauty Trend to Hit the Runways

In a blink of an eye, Fashion Week has swiftly made its way through New York and London. Thus far, we’ve seen a multitude of runway beauty looks that are captivating and effortless in equal measure, getting us excited for even more trends to be spotted in Milan.
Following the bright eyes and loud lips as seen at New York Fashion Week, Milan served up its very own version with amplified hues. Instead of featuring lurid pink and purples, vivid shades of orange and blue painted areas of the models’ faces as they sauntered down the runway. It’s no surprise that the Italian fashion capital would turn up the volume on the bold aspects of these emerging trends, infusing the makeup look with its very own reiteration of the brazen beauty.
Vibrant and hardly blended out, the beauty look of Milan was decidedly more geometric and opaque as spotted on the runways of Salvatore Ferragamo and Ports 1961. And though there hasn’t been a singular standout colour that’s dominating the colour blocking trend, we’ve been given a little taste of everything from audacious strokes of blue, red, yellow, green, and orange in their least subdued shades. These makeup artists sure are enjoying themselves playing with such bright colours, transforming fashion shows into beautiful bits of the rainbow.
