We can’t wait to choose from the myriad of musical acts this coming weekend, indulging in a couple of good melodious hours. The Mosaic Music Weekend, a mellowed down version of the grand 10-day extravaganza that is the Mosaic Music Festival which debuted in 2005, is bringing to us a series of talent-filled international acts. The highlight performance has got to be the collaborative performance by Lisa Hannigan and Patrick Wolf, which is sure to enthral us with the mellifluous harmonies of the angel-voiced duo. There’ll also be a bevy of free performances from local and regional acts, such as beloved local singer Anise, TOMGIRL and Oh! Flamingo from the Philippines, which you can tune in to if you’re looking to drop by The Esplanade.

Mid-Autumn at Gardens By The Bay
 
Our nostalgic senses just seem to heighten each time the Mid-Autumn Festivals rolls around. There’s nothing more we’d rather do than gather around with our family members, sharing mooncakes and laughter while moon gazing. But we might wave tradition goodbye for just this year, as Gardens By The Bay is inviting our families to celebrate lantern festival with them as the Gardens promises to come aglow every evening with a dazzling display of elaborately handcrafted lantern sets. We’re definitely looking forward to the nightly performances, cultural activities, and the myriad of food booths where we’ll find delectable asian treats to nibble on.

If you’re a fan of both film and dance, you wouldn’t want to miss this. The Projector, an independant cinema, is collaborating with Esplanade’s da:ns festival to bring us a raw moment of intimacy between the two art forms.We’ll be presented with feature-length documentaries such as MR GAGA by Tomer Heymann, PINA by Wim Wenders and OUR LAST TANGO by German Kral, which follows famous dance artists through their personal lives and work routine. We’re down to be inspired by the close-up access to these real life stories revolving around what underlies the dance industry.

Simple Plan “Taking One For The Team Tour” Singapore 2016
 
This one’s for your alternative rock-loving teen angst self. Following the release of their fifth studio album since their formation in 1999 (we know, we know), everyone’s favourite Canadian pop punk band are returning to Singapore for their “Taking One For The Team Tour”. Rock out to classic Simple Plan hits – we know the first lines of “Perfect” just started playing in your head – alongside their latest tracks like “Boom” and “Opinion Overload”. It’s time for that perfect #throwback moment.

Singapore International Festival of Arts : Ron Arad
As a part of the Singapore International Festival of Arts installation, we’re presented with the highlight of the festival; Ron Arad’s 720°, a monumental outdoor video installation which is bound to captivate you with a large scale display of creativity. The Meadow @ Gardens By The Bay will be lit up and transformed in front of your very eyes by this thrilling instalment which will take you places where your imagination may freely roam. Don’t miss out on the live performance which utilises digital multimedia to bring you a stunning cutting-edge performance directed by Brian Gothong Tan, whose visual spectacles you may recognise from our very own National Day Parade. For all the architecture enthusiasts out there, Ron Arad will also be conducting an up close and personal session about art in public spaces as part of the festivals’ SIFA shares programme.
