Just when you thought that the Harambe memes had reached breaking point, and the Internet couldn’t take another “Dicks Out For Harambe” gag, someone decides to do this. Yes, there’s now going to be an actual Harambe video game, and it looks freaking amazing.
Titled Harambe vs. Capcom, this Street Fighter- and Capcom-styled fighting game features Harambe as the lead protagonist who has psychic powers and is forced into hiding when he hears that a “shadow agency” wants to kill him. What happens next is that he fakes his own death, and then uses his telepathic abilities to manipulate the media into thinking that he is really dead.
So where does Harambe decide to “die” at? Why, the zoo of course.
The gameplay begins when Harambe embarks on a madcap hunt for Ryu, who will save him, but only if he is defeated first.
Created by Otaku Gang – an underground collective that dabbles in musical compositions and satirical video game developments – Harambe vs. Capcom will feature 21 playable characters and is free for download. There will be three mystery characters – Evil Ken Urien, Hugo, and Shin Vega. The game is a 352 MB file and is only playable on PC.
For those of you who haven’t heard the story of Harambe, he is a gorilla that was tragically put down by officials at the Cincinnati Zoo on May 28 2016, after a three-year-old boy got trapped in a moat of water at his enclosure.
