The live-action Beauty and the Beast movie (finally) comes out tomorrow, which means that there’s just enough time for one more collaboration inspired by the tale as old as time. We’ve already seen Australian clothing brand Minkpink try their hand at Beauty and the Beast-themed streetwear, and now London-based luxury designer Christopher Kane has unveiled a much more elegant capsule collection that’s truly fit for a princess.
Wanting to create a “modern day interpretation and wardrobe for the strong heroic female character,” Kane’s collection contains a wide range of dresses, tops and accessories for both the street and the ballroom. Drawing inspiration from key movie elements such as Belle’s dress, the Beast’s castle interiors and — of course — the enchanted rose, the pieces predominantly feature red, blue and gold colour schemes, and we’re especially fond of the Belle-centric pieces, which look like exactly what she’d wear if she lived in the 21st century.
The Christopher Kane Beauty and the Beast capsule collection will be available from tomorrow onwards at the brand’s flagship store in London, but if you for some reason can’t drop everything and hop on a plane within the next 24 hours, you can opt for the much easier alternative and shop the pieces on their website. With prices ranging from $95 to a whopping $5,995, however, you’re going to have to be as rich as a princess before you can start looking like one.
