If there’s anything we’ve learnt from the growing pink/grey sneaker trend, it’s that the unlikeliest of colour combinations can sometimes turn into an unexpected hit. Nike seems to have taken that lesson to heart as well, seeing that they’ve just released a women’s exclusive Air Max 90 in another odd pairing of colours in hopes of landing on the next big look. If you never try, you never know, right?
In a colourway the swoosh brand is calling “Oatmeal/Gum”, the upper — which features a luxe pairing of leather and suede — is draped in a creamy grey for a subtle aesthetic, with white accents on the swoosh and heel / tongue logos to add a nice bit of contrast. The bottom half of the sneaker opts for a classic white midsole / gum sole combination, with the gum extending to surround the silhouette’s signature air bubble for a unique look that works surprisingly well.
The Nike Air Max 90 “Oatmeal/Gum” is available right now, and can be bought online at select Nike retailers like Titolo for US$179.90. Granted, these might not be as eye-catching as a pair of pink/grey sneakers, but if it’s your intention to rock a more subdued, yet stylish look, then these might be the perfect pair of kicks for you.
