Air Max day might have come and gone just like that, but that isn’t going to stop Nike from releasing new iterations of the classic silhouette (if anything, they’ll probably be releasing more in the coming months). While bright, pastel colourways have been all the rage for sneakers this year, it looks like the swoosh brand is going in the completely opposite direction with their newest Air Max 90, covering it in one of the boldest designs we’ve seen in recent memory.
Draped in an elegant, semi-tonal rose red colourway, the sneaker keeps it classy with a luxurious suede and leather upper, with floral prints printed on the heel, tongue, and toe box for some extra detailing. To offset the design-heavy top, the sneaker rocks a timeless white midsole / black sole combination to ground the look, while adding some much-needed contrast at the same time. These would’ve hands-down been the perfect kicks for Valentine’s day, but hey, better late than never, right?
These women’s-exclusive floral Air Max 90s have already seen a limited international release, and can be bought at select Nike retailers such as atmos for 12,000 Yen, which roughly converts to about $150. Considering how many pastel sneakers we’ve been eyeing in the last few months (we’ve lost count, personally), such a bold colour scheme is certainly a breath of fresh air.
