Gosh, PUMA doesn’t seem to be slowing down even the slightest bit when it comes to dropping some of the best sneaker collaborations. It’s as if they aren’t aware of the damage that the luxurious FENTY x PUMA collection will be causing our wallets — a super nostalgic collaboration with one of our favourite childhood shows, Sesame Street, has to be released at the same period too. How did they ever find out that we can’t say no?
They’ve included motifs of the characters on the brand’s best-selling silhouetters, the Suede and the Basket. The Suede collection comes in blue and red, with iconic faces of Cookie Monster and Elmo (don’t we love these guys the most) peppered all over the shoe’s hairy suede upper. It will be completed with tonal laces and a black leather heel tab.
And as for the ones who refuse to show favouritism, the Baskets will feature various character drawings all over the sneaker’s body. There will be a choice of the classic black print on an off-white upper, or an edgier white print on a black body. The sneaker’s exterior will be made primarily of canvas, with a hint of leather cushioning along the ankle area.
It’s strange that we haven’t spotted other fan-favs such as Big Bird and Count von Count, but the PUMA x Sesame Street collab is an on-going one, so there might be hope that the characters not featured here might turn up as reiterations on other best-selling sneaker silhouettes, such as the PUMA Creeper. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
Till then, these adorable kicks will drop on March 10 at PUMA stores and on puma.com. There hasn’t been news if the collection will be available in Singapore yet, but do keep a lookout for updates.
