Ditch The Laces With The New Puma Vikky

If you’ve been in the sneaker game long enough, you’ll notice that every brand has a signature “calling card” that they like to incorporate into their kicks — Nike obviously has their iconic swoosh, Adidas has the equally iconic three stripes, and Puma has…statement laces? From their “Heart” line of kicks to the Rihanna-designed FENTY Bow Sneaker, the German sportswear brand has never been one to shy from going all out in the shoelace department, which is why we were a little surprised when they unveiled their newest silhouette, the Puma Vikky.

Yup, it looks like Puma has dove so deep into the shoelace rabbit hole that the next logical step was to have no laces at all. That’s not to say that we’re not digging the look, though — in place of where the laces should be, the sneaker has been fitted with two elasticised bands (oversized, of course) that give the kicks a more streamlined silhouette. The rest of the shoe sticks to the design philosophies of more traditional Puma shoes, with stripes running across the side along and the brand’s logo above it.

Keeping up with the ever-popular pastel trend, the Puma Vikky has also been draped in “Veiled Rose” and “Lavender Lustre” colourways and topped off with a classic all white sole for a spring-ready look. The best part? These kicks are available right now only cost US$55 — a downright steal by today’s standards — so head on over to Puma’s website to cop a pair before they potentially become the next big thing.
