The June Beauty Buys We're Most Excited About

New month, new buys! June means that we’re truly into summer, so even more fun summer-themed products are coming out to play. We’re once again spoilt for choice with so many things across makeup, skincare and haircare launching in the next week alone, that curating this monthly list was, as usual, a challenge. Both in picking out the best and most exciting stuff, and exercising self-restraint over our wallets. 💸

Liese Creamy Bubble Colour in Biscuit Beige and Mint Ash

liese new colours

Liese’s foam hair dyes are the beauty gods’ gift to vain girls too lazy or broke to book a professional hair dye session in a salon. That’s why we love these – they leave behind some pretty legit colour, and are easy enough for even the biggest beauty noob to use. These are the two new trendy shades launched for the summer, if you want to go a bit lighter with your hair colour for the next few months.
$19.90, available at Watsons, Guardian, and leading supermarkets and hypermarkets from 1 June 2017.

ETUDE HOUSE Any Cushion All Day Perfect
etude house any cushion

Another cushion? Yes, another cushion. We don’t mind, because ETUDE HOUSE tends to get their cushions right. This is the latest addition to the Any Cushion range, and focuses on providing coverage that’s long-lasting. You also need to see the super cute trinkets you can decorate your cushion with, here.
$32, available at ETUDE HOUSE stores from 1 June 2017.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua XL Ink Liner
mufe aqua xl

So… the brand is calling this, together with the new Aqua XL Colour Paint, “athleisure” products. How on earth did athleisure – a trend we still can’t decide if we really like or not, by the way – cross over into the realm of beauty? And what on earth does athleisure makeup even mean?
Apparently, it’s just a new way of saying this formula will be able to stand up to the endurance test, remaining as high-impact colour on the skin for a full 24 hours. And the colours are really fun, bright and punchy… like workout wear, we guess? Anyway, this is a new liquid liner that comes in 15 shades spanning matte, lustrous, diamond and metallic finishes. The 3 diamond and metallic ones are especially fun, and we’re quite looking forward to putting them to the sweat test.
$38, available at the MAKE UP FOR EVER boutique (full collection) and Sephora (selected shades) from 8 June 2017.

Burberry Summer Collection
burberry summer

We don’t actually want to use that heart-print palette, we just want to take an Instagram picture of it. But, if you actually dip your brush into this First Love blush and highlighter palette, the bright matte pink mixes with the pastel pink to add quite a natural flush to the cheeks. The rest of the collection features eye and lip colours that come in refined hues of peach, copper and nudes, in typical Burberry style.
$38 to $94, available at TANGS at Tang Plaza, tangs.com, Sephora ION and sephora.sg from 8 June 2017.

NARS Orgasm Collection
HyperFocal: 0

We finally laid hands on this collection today, and oh boy, that Orgasm Liquid Blush – every bit as beautiful on the skin as we thought it’d be. We might even go as far to say… we like it better than the original Orgasm powder blush. 😱 Since it’s a slightly less shimmery version, and can double up as a really pretty eyeshadow, too. See the rest of the Orgasm collection here.
$40 to $50, available at the NARS store and counters from 1 June 2017.

YSL Beauty The Shock Eye Collection
ysl the shock
This is basically an excuse to get yourself a new tube of the cult YSL Beauty Volume Effect Faux Cils mascara, since it now comes with not only a special edition packaging, but also a upgraded brush that’s now wider, and features four inner reservoirs cut into its structure, to coat the lashes with even more high-impact pigment. There’s plenty to love in the rest of the collection too, in the form of a brow marker, eye crayon duo, an eye gloss, and a very badass smoky palette.
$45 to $129, available at YSL Beauty stores and counters from June 2017.

Origins Modern Friction Cleansing Stick
origins modern friction

Yas, Origins is getting in on the cleansing stick game. The Modern Friction Cleansing Stick contains white rice and purple rice to provide a gentle exfoliating effect. White rice has long been used as a skincare ingredient to help refine the skin, while the more exotic purple rice is for an antioxidant boost.
$51, available at Origins stores and counters, and Sephora and sephora.sg from 1 June 2017.

LANEIGE Anti-Pollution Finishing Pact
laneige-anti-pollution-finishing-pact

The dirt in the air, while invisible, is real. So don’t wait for haze season to scramble for the anti-pollution beauty products. This new pressed powder has green tea calming powder to soothe the skin and restore the skin barrier. That’s the green part of the pact, while the white portion is made up of a sebum control powder to keep the skin matte and fresh. The powder particles of different sizes stay close together so this goes on evenly on the skin, while preventing pollutant particles from sticking.
$36, available at LANEIGE stores and counters from 1 June 2017.
