The New Nike Cortez "Racer Pink" is The Pinkest Pink We've Ever Seen

Remember when we said last week that the Nike Cortez might be the next retro-inspired sneaker to be making a comeback? Yeah well, we think that our suspicions might be all but confirmed with this latest release. After giving the silhouette a modern update with the “Glitter” pack (that, strangely enough, did not feature any glitter), the swoosh brand has unveiled yet another Cortez in a “Racer Pink” colourway, and this might very well be the pinkest pink that we’ve ever seen.

Considering that we write about pink sneakers on an almost daily basis, we’d like to think of ourselves as a lowkey authority on the subject, so it’s definitely saying something when we make a statement like that. The pink that covers the kicks’ nylon / suede upper looks like a cross between pastel and neon, resulting in a vibrant, bubblegum-esque shade that we’re hoping to see more of in the future. The signature swoosh and heel tab have been decked in white for a complimentary pop of contrast, and as if all that wasn’t already enough to get us on board there’s also a beautiful lilac stripe that runs through the midsole for a finishing touch of detail that we’re definitely digging.

The Nike Classic Cortez Nylon “Racer Pink” is available right now, and can be bought online at select Nike stockists such at Inflammable for 80 Euros (roughly $125). Nike definitely isn’t going to put its pinkest pink on any pair of sneakers, so if you were still on the fence on whether you should be copping this silhouette, this vote of confidence by the brand should be evidence enough that they’re serious about making the Cortez great again.
