This Rumoured Thrasher x Vans Collaboration is Straight Up Fire

If you’ve been keeping up with streetwear trends recently, you probably already know that skateboarding magazine Thrasher and its signature flame logo is one of the hottest — pun totally intended — looks that you can rock right now (based on the number of thrasher tees we see on our Instagram explore page, it looks like everyone got the memo). So far the brand’s aesthetic has been limited to apparel, but according to Italian magazine IOBI it looks like Thrasher might soon be entering the sneaker game, and they’re bringing none other than fellow skate brand Vans along for the ride as well.

The IOBI Instagram page currently only has two photos of this potential collaboration, but those two photos are evidence enough that this partnership is a match made in streetwear heaven — the vibrant yellow / red colour scheme of the Thrasher logo goes perfectly with the black of the Vans Slip-On, so much so that the sneaker calls it a day right then and there without adding anything else. The Sk8-Hi iteration follows the same design philosophies for an equally stylish look, and throws in a red stripe around the midsole for a nice touch of detailing. We here at Nylon admittedly aren’t particularly fond of the Thrasher brand (it’s become a little too mainstream, if you ask us), but we’d be lying if we said that we didn’t want to cop a pair of these for ourselves.
There’s currently no word from either side on when these sneakers will be released — heck, the possibility of this collaboration actually happening is little more than rumour at this point — but based on what we’ve seen it’d be a real waste if these two brands didn’t partner up, and we have a feeling that they know that too. We’ve seen our fair share of unexpected team up’s over the years, but when it comes to Thrasher and Vans, everything seems to make perfect sense, and we’ve got our fingers crossed that it’ll soon become a reality.
