People, we’re officially into Autumn/Winter ’17. Yes, we’re aware that doesn’t mean much in the context of Singapore, but the point we’re trying to make here is, 2017 is more than half over, and 2018’s whizzing closer and closer every day.
Yes, we’re also aware that we start almost all of these posts the same way. But it’s really crazy how the year is flying by, so all we can do is try to take a deep breath, try to savour each day, and comfort ourselves with these pretty new beauty buys, all launching in the month of July.
L’Occitane Verbena range
We’re always down for a new citrus scent, and L’Occitane’s new limited edition rage is about keeping things fresh with notes of lemon, courtesy of the verbena herb sourced from France. The Verbena Body Ice Gel, Fresh Body Lotion and Frappé Body Cream all feel cooling on the skin as well, so keep these close on especially hot days.

Lancôme Énergie de Vie Exfoliating Mask
This green skincare line is Lancôme reaching out to fatigued Gen Y skin that’s in need of some re-energising. This mask gently exfoliates with lemon peel, jojoba pearls, and glycerol of vegetal origin, and moisturises the skin with active ingredients. Many of us are probably a little fatigued at this point of the year, so this comes at just the right time.

Maybelline Color Sensational Powder Mattes
Maybelline’s calling this their “smoothest, most lightweight mattes yet”, but all we’re thinking about is, we don’t need a special reason to add more flattering mattes to our collection, especially when each one costs under $20. Compared to their existing matte colours, these are twice as matte and have four times the saturated powder pigments. Not drying in the least, however. NARS Highlighting Bronzing Collection
Gosh, NARS and their palettes. 😍 This is a late summer launch that stars the Bord De Plage Palette, combining 4 opalescent highlighters and 2 gently light-diffusing bronzers. Three new shades of the Velvet Shadow Sticks join this launch, in a shimmering taupe, brown and nude pink, all eye colour necessities.

YSL Beauty Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres
The brand’s expanding this cult lip colour line by a whopping 16 shades, including, for the first time, Amplifiers that alter whatever lip colour it’s applied over. Read all about it, and see all the new shades, here.

M.A.C Chromat
Through this range, we found out about Chromat – a NYC fashion label that’s all about creating swimwear, sportswear and lingerie that looks like it belongs a few centuries in the future. That’s why this collaborative makeup collection looks like it comes back from the future as well, with plenty of vibrant hues encased in 3D-print packaging inspired by Chromat’s architectural designs.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette
Possibly the most exciting palette launch of 2017, and we’ve spent a long time obsessing over it. Just read all about it here, and start counting down to 13 July, if you didn’t already manage to score it during the sephora.sg flash sale last week.

belif Moisture Bomb Cushion – Matt Bullet
People really don’t talk about belif’s cushions enough. There’s reason to this month, with this new matte formula that uses the comfrey leaf to maintain moisture levels inside the skin, while keeping makeup oil-free on the surface. Basically, it’s as hydrating as the existing Moisture Bomb Cushion, but without the dewy finish (because honestly, we feel like that’s well on its way out of trend by now).

A new lipstick never fails to make one feel better, and if 2017 has been rough so far, you need to treat yo’self: and there is no better treat than this luxurious lipstick, which boasts an S-shaped tip that promises to hug your lip contours like no other lipstick can.
