American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) is back with their latest collection – the Back-to-School Collection, this time a throwback to the 90s, revolving around the themes of “Ballet Grunge”, “Street Active” and “New School”. In addition, AEO is introducing another denim series – the “All New American Jean” – to match with pieces from the collection. Offering high-quality jeans is the core of AEO’s brand, so it’s not surprising that they have came up with a whopping 45 unique styles. How can they come up with so many different cuts just for jeans? Well, AEO is here to prove that it’s almost impossible not to find a pair of jeans that will suit any body type.
As you can guess from the name of the women’s line, Ballet Grunge mixes feminine and edgy, kinda exuding Cara Delevingne vibes, the supermodel who really embodies grunge with sophistication oh so well. Master the “Cara look” with some of the key pieces from the collection which includes floral embroidered blouses (lots of florals in this collection to bring out your inner flowerchild), studded denim jackets, band tees, lace-ups and cold shoulders blouses or opt for the varsity-inspired jackets and tops for the preppy schoolgirl look.
Jeans are the way to go when you really don’t know what to wear to school and since this collection is reviving the 90s’, you can’t leave out the high rise and slim straight leg cuts, can you? With high-rise jeans taking the spotlight for this collection, AEO is introducing their re-interpretation of the classic Mom jeans, which is finally available in Singapore for the first time in 2 different styles. There are a total of 23 unique styles in 7 different fits, ranging from Super High Rise Jeggings to Vintage High Rise Slim, so rest assured for you will be able to find that perfect jeans you’ve long been looking for.
For the men’s Back-to-School selections, AEO is bringing back trends made popular in the 90s’, namely the Ivy League athletics and cool casual styles based off the rebel youths of Gen Y. Dig through your dad’s old trunk of clothes and you’ll know what we mean. Think patchwork button-down shirts, bonded fleece, windbreaker jackets, preppy tees and acid wash jeans. Choose from a variety of streetwise options from their men’s Street Active collection or look like the ultimate 90’s kid with the New School collection.
In the 90s’, tapered jeans and military styles were a huge thing, which is why the collection also features several camouflage pieces and are including 2 brand new fits, the Slim Tapered and Ultra Skinny into their denim X jeans series. There are 7 unique fits and up to 22 corresponding styles for the guys to choose from, with the slim cuts being the highlight for this season’s collection.
