There truly is something for every skin type — even for those who are allergic to foundation. Clinique’s BIY Pigment Drops caught our attention because of what it promises: to turn your day moisturiser into a BB, CC or full coverage foundation. All you have to do is to grab hold of your favourite moisturier, mix in a couple of pigment drops depending on the coverage that you’d like, and blend the mixture away on your face. One drop gives a sheer, tint-like coverage, a couple more a medium to full. The foundation then takes the finish of your moisturiser, so you can pick and select a dewy or matte one according to the occasion. There are just so many ways that these pigment drops can be used — a reviewer commented that she’s mixed them into her sunscreen, primer and even added them to her existing sheer foundation to amp up the coverage.
Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil

There are just those foundations with beautifully full coverage, yet dry down so matte, they start to cake up on your face. Don’t be in a rush to throw them out yet — we all know how hard a good foundation with actual coverage comes by. Loosen up the formula by incorporating hydrating beauty oils each time to reach out for that one foundation; it’ll still retain its coverage, but will instead set down to a satin, dewy finish depending how many drops are used. Those who prefer an oil with skincare properties might want to consider putting the tried-and-test formula of rosehip oil into the mix.

Cover FX may be known best for their blinding Custom Enhancer Drops, and we’re pretty sure you’ve already made acquaintance with them, some way or another. What’s less known about the brand is that they actually do offer quite a number of other makeup drop solutions meant for you to tweak and create your perfect beauty blend. For those who are looking to mattify your look, the Custom Blot Drops will do just the trick. Mix it into your overly dewy foundation, concealer and/or blush, and it’ll instantly remove shine away from your face once your makeup is on.
Algenist REVEAL Concentrated Colour Correcting Drops

Colour correcting products may look daunting, considering how most products require you to smear colour over problem areas, then put foundation over. What happens if you foundation can’t fully cover those coloured spots? Do you really want to head out with a green patch on your cheek…? Save all that worry with Algenist’s Colour Correcting Drops, where specific colours, when mixed into your primer, foundation or concealer, can help correct redness, dullness or sallow skin.
Perricone MD No Bronzer Bronzer

Wanna fake a tan without actually going under the sun? Blend in a few drops of liquid bronzer into your foundation, and you’ll have yourself a sun-kissed complexion down pat. Perricone MD’s No Bronzer Bronzer adds a subtle bronze-y, beach babe tint for a healthy glow. On no makeup days, a quick couple of drops into tinted moisturiser and sunscreen will work as well.
Urban Decay Liquid Aura Illuminating Mix-In Medium

Get your highlighter fix nursed with illuminating mix-in drops, on days where you’d want to look extra glowy and sparkly. Adding in just a tiny bit of Urban Decay’s Liquid Aura into your foundation will help elevate the way the product looks on your skin, for the illuminator adds dimension to your complexion, as the light-reflecting pigments in the medium catches light.
The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops

Shade adjusting drops aren’t the most necessary, considering how you should always pick a best foundation match before committing to the purchase. But in the event where say, you get tanner and that ivory foundation just won’t work anymore, these shade adjusting drops will come to good use. These drops also work well with foundations that oxidise to a much darker shade than it looks in the packaging. Essentially, the best part of these drops is that they allow you to mix your foundation to one that fits your skin tone perfectly. (And we all know how hard those are to come by, don’t we?)
