How to Take On the Upside-Down Eye Makeup Trend

San Diego Comic-Con may have wrapped up a few days ago, but we’re still not over that thrilling trailer for the second season of Stranger Things. Ever since the first season drew to a close, the show has inspired many aspects of our lives, but who knew it would make such an impact on the beauty community?
Well, whether you’re a hardcore fan of the series, or just a beauty enthusiast looking to spruce up your makeup routine, here’s a trend that might interest you: Upside-down eye makeup. It’s one that’s been slowly consuming the world of beauty and it also aligns with the summer mood and sweltering heat. Now, you may be picturing a complete rotation of eye makeup, but that ain’t what it is. Who better to demonstrate the upside-down eye makeup than Barb herself, actress Shannon Purser.

Instead of dolling up your lids and creases, apply a pop of colour on the lower lash line. There you go – fast and easy. You won’t have to worry about smeared makeup all around your lids under these soaring temperatures, and it’s the perfect way to experiment with vivid hues if you’re a newbie to under eye makeup. To achieve the look, grab a pigmented pencil and line your bottom and inner lash line – make sure to avoid any gaps while you’re at it. You can leave it at that or use a brush and smudge it out a little to create a softer look.
