OPPO’s R11 is picture perfect magic. We all know that. This sleek gadget is currently one of the best photo-taking options for smartphones in the market right now, with its powerful dual 20-megapixel and 16-megapixel rear cameras capable of producing a fake ‘bokeh’ effect, along with a 20-megapixel front cam that’s fantastic for selfies.
All that razzmatazz still hasn’t stopped the OPPO from ramping things up a notch though. The Chinese company today (18 July 2017) announced via press release the launch of the R11 in a brand new, limited edition red colourway, similar to the red iPhone 7 that Apple dished out a few months ago.
It’s also not the first time OPPO has launched a red phone. Back in January, the tech giant coated its popular R9s model in red to celebrate Chinese New Year. But this time, they’ll be launching it alongside French cosmetic brand MAKE UP FOR EVER, with the help of Instagrammers like Daryl Yow, Sophia Chong, and Cassandra Tan.
The collaboration with a cult make-up brand like MAKE UP FOR EVER shows OPPO’s intention to appeal to consumers as a legit fashion accessory that’s ideal for capturing beauty, and is part of the company’s ‘Caught You RED Handed’ campaign, where Instagrammers take turns to show off their creativity via ‘red-handed’ mug shots.
That’s something consumers can do as well if they head down to OPPO’s Suntec City concept store, which will be transformed into an Instagram-worthy experience zone, with MAKE UP FOR EVER products at the side for customers to try out.
