Have you guys ever allowed a friend to copy your homework and he/she just decides to blatantly copy everything, wholesale? Yeap, that’s how it is with Skechers trying to cop the adidas Yeezy aesthetic and Jeffrey Campbell literally churning out similar-looking PUMA Suede Heart shoes.
“Can I copy your homework?”
“Yeah just change it up a bit so it doesn’t look obvious you copied.”
“Ok”
But PUMA is not letting this imitation game get in its way and in fact, is actually on the roll by giving three of its fan-favourite models a little update. And they all have something in common – pink. Can we ever get enough of millennial pink trainers? Well, clearly not now, and not ever.
First up, the high-cut PUMA Fierce model is getting a copper rose gold treatment with metallic detailing at the circumference of the ankles. The rest of the upper comes in a warm pink tone and features extended tabs at the tongue and heel. In this update, the toe cap is also made from a neoprene material instead of a netted mesh, offering wearers a more versatile gym-to-street look. The PUMA Fierce Copper Rose is retailing at US$110 and is currently available at Six:02.
Following up on its Suede Heart model, PUMA has added a subtle touch to it so you know the difference between the real and the ones that ahem… look similar. Arriving in a gorgeous Cameo Brown colourway, the extra details are all in the Suede Heart II’s laces. The pack includes the usual fat satin laces as well as a woven bow lacing that has its edges lined in white. The rubberised midsoles are also drenched in pink, giving us monochrome lovers, more reason to love it. This iteration of the Suede Hearts is also available in Black, with the borders of the woven bow laces lined in white too. You can cop these for US$85 at PUMA.com.
The final silhouette that’s receiving a lil update as well is the PUMA Basket Heart. Like the Fierce model, the Basket Heart gets an all-over metallic copper rose makeover, and we are obsessed. Sporting a matching pink rubber midsole, these babies naturally come with their iconic wide ribbon lace that ties the shoe together.
