Right when we think we’re about done with 3CE’s very Polly Pocket-inspired collection, the Korean beauty brand is back to fish for our money again in the form of this gorgeous collaboration, only graciously of course, with French-chic fashion label Maison Kitsuné, no less. So what can you expect? More on-point aesthetics, and the rather pleasing combination of French and Korean beauty styles, as you’ll see here.
Cute and quirky, yet somehow still very cool, the two brands manage to weave together these qualities into a collection you’ll want to collect — some might say that there’s a certain je ne sais quoi in the air. All the girls sport natural yet radiant looks, with clear and slightly glowy skin (it’s Korean beauty after all), as well as a light hand on the eyeshadow, mostly peach and coral tones in fact. The key to both French and Korean makeup, then, falls on a flawless base.
Also, you’ll definitely notice those flushed cheeks as well — no hard contour here or over-the-top highlights, we’re getting a natural blush that looks very healthy and fresh-faced. For the lips though, while we don’t see that classic French-style red lip, the look here’s really kissable lips enhanced with a touch of coloured lip balm, still very romantic. Time to start collecting ’em all! The 3CE x Maison Kitsuné collection consists of both cheek blushes and lip balms in tiny makeup tins, packaged to perfection of course, with the iconic brand names and the logo of the fox printed right on. Red, blue and white are shades consistent with the collection too, and so are nice pops of pink here and there. Each cheek or lip product also comes in three shades each; for the blushes, you can choose from a Pure Peony, a light peach shade, Ginger Pink, a more girly pink, or Sweety Meringue, a coral shade. For the lip balms, the shade swatches and model looks show us that these are more glossy shades, with a pretty decent colour payoff for each. Hydrating and flattering, you’ll want to pop them on your lips for a very wearable daily look that still seems like you paid attention. There’s a Blush Coral, Peach Beige, basically two shades that give you that natural pout, as well as a more reddish Rose Sweets for a little more drama to your face.
The added bonus is that makeup in tins make them so easy to carry around, while you’ll also be able to use your fingers to pat them onto your face. If you’re more hygienic than that though, there’s also something that should pique your interest.
A brush kit! Once again, this comes in a tin with that cheeky fox face, with stylish burgundy handles on the brushes and a gradient effect on the brush hairs that mimic a fox’s tail. The kit’s pretty comprehensive too — nestled inside, you’ll find a ‘Big Face’ brush, ‘Tail Blush’, ‘Like Finger’, ‘Eye Smudge’ and ‘Lip & Spot’. Yeah, something’s lost in translation. What we think that means is a powder brush, one for blush, another fluffy eyeshadow one, as well as the stiffer eye smudge brush and lip brush respectively.
