Gardens by the Bay never fails to surprise us. Earlier this year, there were beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom at the Flower Dome, while the outdoor space played host to a mega Star Wars festival with illuminating lightsaber trees. This time around, it’s going to be pure pumpkin madness as Autumn season rolls around.
As we all experience on a daily basis, Singapore isn’t the coolest country on earth, and definitely not the ideal climate for pumpkins to grow. That won’t be the case inside the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay’s Autumn Harvest showcase, an event that runs from now till October 29, where over 2,000 pumpkins will be on display.
And we’ve got to say, they all look magnificent – fairytale-style even. There’s a gorgeous Cinderella pumpkin carriage that comes straight out of our Disney dreams, with a shimmering silver-wire mesh horse sculpture adding to the spectacular sight. There are also polar bears, pump-ke-mons, and a 7.3-metre tall farmer made entirely out of fruits and vegetables.
Overall, it’s the perfect spot to get some snaps going for the gram’, while gathering some valuable knowledge about pumpkins at the same time – there are 22 varieties here for visitors to check out, and goodness, we haven’t even started on how many different shapes and sizes they come in, and all their pretty colours too.
Whatever the case may be; it’s going to be a botanical treat for the senses, and not too mention, the perfect photo-op day for all you IG addicts. The Autumn Festival is running from now till October 29, from 9am to 9pm at the Flower Dome. Admission charges to the conservatories apply.
