Timberland Drops Rainbow-Coloured Collection Inspired by Samurai

Standing out in the crowd. Few shoes do the job better than Timberland. Whether you’re wearing rugged low tops from the US-based brand or decking your feet in their classic high-cut boot series, you can expect to receive more than your fair share of stares, of the “I want those” variety of course.
But as if getting attention wasn’t Timberland’s forte already, the company has just dropped what is probably its most colourful collection of all time – the Giri collection.

Borrowing the Japanese word “Giri” (which directly translates to “katana sword cut”), this new footwear pack for men is inspired by Samurai and how their blade cleanly slices through a tatami mat in Tameshigiri – a traditional katana testing ritual.
How that relates to the new collection is that each shoe has what is called the Sensorflex outsole, which is formed by merging three horizontally cut separate layers. And of course, you’ve got all those funky, rainbow-like colours that are reminiscent of Japanese pop culture, from bright blue to green.

But more than just style, these kicks have plenty of substance too. For that, you can thank a textile upper that comes with abrasion resistant coating, a padded collar, as well as an EVA footbed.
They’re also pretty reasonably priced too, with each boot costing $199. If you’d like to score them, they’ll be available via all Timberland outlets, but since we’re feeling generous, we’ll be giving away three pairs of Giri boots, one in each colour (blue, red, and green). You can head to our Facebook page for more details on how to participate!
