Why You'll Want to Try This Black Blush On Your Cheeks

We’re no strangers to colour-changing makeup. It typically involves a colourless synthetic dye that turns pink when it’s exposed to moisture, so there’s a fair bit of science that goes into a few of our favourite beauty products.

Lipstick Queen’s Frog Prince collection is perhaps the best example of this. In case you’re unfamiliar, it’s a colour-changing makeup range that magically transforms from green to pink as soon as the product touches your skin – pretty obvious how it got its name, right?

This time, the Australian brand is applying the same pH-adjusting technology to their Black Lace Rabbit line, creating a show-stopping black blush. Intimidating as it may seem, the black gel-like formula that’s flecked with gold shimmer actually turns into a flattering berry pink the moment it hits your skin.

If you’re looking to add an otherworldly tinge of aubergine to your cheeks, the Lipstick Queen Black Lace Rabbit Blush is it. That said, it can be easy to go overboard with this product, so dab it on with a light hand. You can swipe this on your lips and build on the product for a pop of colour, too. A versatile black cream rouge that doubles up as a lip product is bound to make its way into our morning makeup stash.

YouTuber Tati did make the mistake of applying too much product on with a brush (spoiler alert: it looks terrible), so take heed and dab lightly onto your cheeks if you’re trying this out on yourself for the first time. A little goes a long way.
Lipstick Queen Black Lace Rabbit Blush, $24. Available on lipstickqueen.com.
