Casio’s Gorgeous New TR-M11 Selfie Cam is Shaped Like a Compact Mirror

Selfies have changed the way we take pictures. Our kids do it. Our parents do it. Heck, even our grandparents know how to work it for the gram’. And smartphones have been the default photo-taking weapon of choice – till now, that is. Introducing Casio’s TR-M11 – a new digital camera that promises to change your selfie game forever.

Shaped like a cute compact mirror and coming in an eye-opening range of gorgeous candy colours, the TR-M11 is the latest in line of Casio’s TR digital cameras – which began with the smartphone-shaped EX-TR100 back in 2011.

Unlike that model (and the rest of the TR cameras since), the TR-M11 is more like your personal studio and less like a camera. It has a wide range of beauty modes, so you can say goodbye to facial flaws. Multiple lighting effects ensure you’ll get a great shot in any environment.
Nine LEDs also form a useful built-in ring light that provides uniform light to a user’s face from any angle, while the camera’s dimensions is set to square portraits, making it just perfect for Instagram.

It’s quite the device for selfies, but not without its flaws. Resolution is capped at a rather unremarkable 10.5-megapixels, plus the cam’s image stabilization was a little iffy when we tried it in a dark club setting; you really had to hold it steady to get a sharp and crisp image – most of our initial shots were blurry.
However, the TR-M11 is unpretentious. It’s not aimed at professional photographers or hobbyists, nor does it pretend to be anywhere near that league. Instead, it’s really just a fun gadget that’ll help to make your selfies prettier, by smoothing out faces with beauty filters and facial editing modes.



For instance, you can add gloss to your pupils or lips. You can smoothen your skin, brighten it, sculpt it, remove dark circles, moles, and wrinkles, and even slim your face. It’s these things that make the TR-M11 attractive for selfie-loving folk, and the clamshell design makes photo taking a lot less obvious than with a smartphone.
For those of you who’d like to cop it, the TR-M11 will retail for $699 and will be available from end October 2017 at authorised retail outlets like Best Denki, Harvey Norman, and Digibridge. The camera is available in green, pink, white, violet, and vivid pink.
