Glossier's New Fragrance Is Going to Smell Like Your Boyfriend's Neck

Fresh off their major Body Hero Duo launch, Glossier’s picking up the pace again with a new product: the long-awaited fragrance, Glossier You. Just last week, the brand gave its Instagram followers a sneak peek at the new fragrance, informing them that they can get a free sample of it before it even hits the shelves. How? Purchase anything online at glossier.com, and you’ll get a complimentary sample of the perfume. Naturally, plenty of folks of Instagram have already fallen in love with the new scent.

Staying true to the enduring ode to individuality, the fragrance is meant to enhance your natural scent and not drown it in heavy florals or cloying orientals. In an interview with Vogue, founder Emily Weiss said, “I want it to smell like your boyfriend’s neck after he has been wearing cologne for eight hours.” Yeah, that description sounds a little too vague, and it also depends on who you’re dating, right? But here’s what the brand promises: a scent that’s musky and powdery, tinged with a bit of fresh iris flower to balance it out. Sounds like a pretty intoxicating neck, if you ask us.

French blogger Lili Barbery-Coulon took a whiff of it and let us in on her first impressions, saying, “I smell some amber and some cedarwood. Musks… Amber, like ambrox. There’s a lot of ambrette seeds.” Did she mention it smells like amber? Let’s not forget that, guys. With that said, we can expect a subtle and androgynous fragrance, and frankly, we cannot wait to try it.

Glossier You ✨Coming soon to a Glossier.com near you.

Thanks to Vogue, we got ourselves an eyeful of Glossier You, and as expected, it aligns with the rest of the brand’s chic offerings. The fragrance is housed in a cotton candy-pink ombré glass bottle, topped off with a bright red cap. We’ve been seeing a little more red punctuated in Glossier’s newer releases to make their products stand out even more, which is a lovely transition from their standard pink/white combination. Not news on its release date just yet, but you can still get that sample with any order you make on glossier.com (have a parcel-forwarding service on the ready, though). As always, whatever Glossier brings us, we’d gladly receive with open arms.
