Since the brand’s early beginnings in 1851, Kiehl’s established its commitment to create a better community. To this day, Kiehl’s long-standing mission is still in place, evident in its partnerships with notable local creatives such as illustrator MessyMsxi (Tan Zi Xi) and musician Ginette Chittick to raise awareness and funds for the Autism Association and the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) respectively. Its latest partnership, however, involves a Hollywood A-Lister you’re definitely familiar with, and might even be a huge fan of.
Yup, it’s none other than the dashing Matthew McConaughey. The collaboration seeks to raise awareness and increase understanding and acceptance of children and adults with autism, specifically supporting the Autism Speaks charity of which the actor is a global advocate. To inform and empower communities worldwide, Kiehl’s produced and posted a video on Instagram and YouTube in which McConaughey shares that “autism affects an estimated 70 million people worldwide.”
Kiehl’s will donate $1 per share on social media, up to a cap of $200,000, to Autism Speaks. Since the video’s release at the start of September, it’s been shared close to 700,000 times, far exceeding its target. ‘Alright, alright, alright’ indeed, Mr. McConaughey. However, that exceptional outcome shouldn’t deter you from making a contribution. Infusing philanthropy into their beauty products, you can also support this charitable effort by purchasing a jar of Kiehl’s x Matthew McConaughey Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cream.
Every one of them features artwork designed by him, all decked out in bright, uplifting colours and interlocking puzzle pieces, which is a nice nod to the Autism Speaks blue logo. Each jar also comes with a gorgeous bracelet with charms on it to represent both Autism Speaks and Kiehl’s.
Kiehl’s x Matthew McConaughey Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cream (125ml), $90. Available now at all Kiehl’s Singapore stores, excluding Robinsons Raffles City.
