What You Need To Know Before Bingeing On Stranger Things S2

Stranger Things was an instant hit since its release last July.
Its refreshingly analog world and nostalgic 80s atmosphere propelled the show into a cultural phenomenon. It was the TV series everyone was talking about. Part of Stranger Things’ appeal is its supernatural storyline that’s set in complete contrast to the wholesome suburban town. Up to now, we’ve been reminiscing over Stranger Things S1 but since finding out that the next season is released 27 Oct, we’ve decided to prepare a quick recap for those who can’t quite remember what they thoroughly enjoyed.

Here goes:
A bunch of kids were riding their bikes, playing Dungeons & Dragons in their parents’ basement, the scrawny kid (Will) went missing, a girl with psychic powers (Eleven) appears, a creepy monster called a Demogorgon existed in walls accompanied by a rhythmically pulsating synths – wait, what?
Throw in a secret CIA experiment on humans at the Hawkins National Laboratory, completely irresponsible adults (all but two: scrawny kid’s mum and drunk Police Chief), and pop culture references to the works of Stephen King and Steven Spielberg. There you have it, the very basic gist of the show.
Of course, there are still so many holes to fill but instead of reading a block of mass text, why not check out Matthew Roger’s video below?

Now, we left the first season with one hell of a cliffhanger. During a Christmas dinner with his family, Will went to the bathroom to cough up a slug. Did he bring something back with him from the Upside Down? What ever happened to Eleven? Many budding theories are already floating around the net.

That gruesome demon slug.

Some say that the Demogorgon monster needs a human host for its eggs, suggesting that Will could potentially be hosting the spawn of the monster.
As for Eleven, many are wondering if she’s transported herself to the Upside Down – but what about the toxic air?
We’re also curious about the Nancy-Jonathon-Steve love triangle. Steve’s meant to be the more attractive but Jonathon has that whole misunderstood “nice guy” image going for him.
We’ll be finding out tomorrow on Netflix. Meanwhile, check out the trailer below.
