If you’re in Paris anywhere from 27 November to 20 December, you need to check out Saint Laurent’s pop up sectional at Colette. Although the multi high-end label store announced that it’s closing shop on 20 December earlier this year, its name has continued to reverberate through our minds with its series of designer link-ups like with Thom Browne, Maison Kitsuné and Chanel x Pharrell x Adidas. In tandem with this creative vision, Colette has teamed up with Saint Laurent for a capsule collection that’s launching to mark the resolution to over a decade of its French legacy.
Running the machine of Yves Saint Laurent is newly-appointed designer Anthony Vaccarello, who in the last few seasons epitomised the glamour and sensuality of a woman’s body. This time around, he’s bridging the YSL sensibility with the needs of the Colette customer with an arsenal of ready-to-wear pieces as well as killer accessories. Incorporating the expertise of other incredible artists, the collaboration includes keychains, a headphones, a helmet, a polaroid camera, skateboards, a vespa, chocolates, lighters — just to name a few. But don’t worry, every piece is co-signed by Vaccarello himself, so you know you’re getting same stamp of approval that passed the huge fur poofs and slouchy leather boots we’re addicted to.
