It always feels good to be first, especially when it comes to enjoying products before everyone else. Gaming addicts will be able to do exactly just that very soon, with Razer today announcing that its first ever smartphone, the Android-operated Razer Phone, will be available for pre-order on Nov 23 (Thursday) in an exclusive partnership with Singtel.
“While we founded Razer in California, US, I’m a Singaporean still and I’m very excited to make Singapore the first country in Asia to release the Razer Phone,” said Tan Min Liang, Razer’s co-founder and chief executive officer, via a press release.
The phone, which is specifically designed for mobile gaming, is packed full of delicious specs that’s engineered to make you go wow. It has a 120Hz display that has twice as fast a refresh rate than most phones. It also has a 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution that fits nicely into a 5.7-inch display. And, it has a massive 4,000mAh battery that comes with quick charging.
But even though this gadget is geared towards gamers, the Razer Phone’s other features aren’t lacking too. This slick device sports dual rear 12-megapixel cameras that have wide angle and telephoto options, while the speakers are powered by Dolby Atmos technology, so you’re going to get incredibly crisp sound, whether you’re gaming or on a Netflix binge.
Currently, Razer’s gaming partnerships for the Razer phone include Tencent, Square Enix, Netmarble Games Corporation, Jagex Limited, Madfinger Games, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe, NEXON Co., Ltd. and Particle City, Inc., and Wargaming Group Limited.
If you’re interested in scoring the Razer Phone, customers who pre-order it from Singtel will be notified by SMS on when to pick up the phone. The Razer Phone will also be sold at Razer Singapore’s online store from Dec 1 onwards for $1,068 (without contract), with delivery time ranging between three to seven days.
