The Pokémon Run Carnival is back for its second edition next year on Saturday, 27 Jan. With a choreographed Pikachu dance performance, Pokémon-type themed inflatables, and carnival games and foods – it’s not like any other 5km run we know.
Besides spotting different Pokémon species during your run, there will be trials and challenges for runners to overcome. But since the race is open to all participants aged 4 and above, we’re thinking the challenges can’t be too…challenging. Well, if they are, you can always register as a pair and tackle those challenges together.
It’s set on the scenic grounds of Gardens By The Bay, and your race route includes zones that are themed after various Pokémon types – and yes, that means fire, water, electricity, and grass. Considering that almost 6,000 people attended the first Pokémon Run Carnival (accompanied by life-size Pikachus), it looks like 2018 will be the year to step up your workup game and join at least one run.
If not, those who want to enjoy all things Pokémon, but without the leg cramps and sweat, can join in at the Pokémon Carnival where carnival games and activities will be held. Although entrance is free, you need to purchase Pokétickets to enjoy the games, activities, and food. Pokétickets are priced at $10 each with a minimum purchase of 2 sheets.
The Pokémon Run Carnival will be held on Saturday, 27 Jan 2018. It is open to all participants aged 4 and above, and runners can register individually or as a pair. For Early Bird admission fees, purchase your tickets from 1 to 30 Nov ($65 for individual, $120 for a pair).
Race packs include an event tee.
