Justin Timberlake might’ve brought sexy back with his hit single of that exact name in 2009, but Balenciaga’s bringing tawdry 80’s into the fashion spotlight in 2018. If ugly is the new pretty, Balenciaga’s pretty as hell; just recently they released their SS18 campaign visuals, pairing “Weird Al” Yankovic-type models in normcore windbreakers, cracked leather jackets and jean-chino trousers. We undoubtedly live in an era of recycled ideas and to spearhead reclaiming dumpster-diver treasures there’s certainly something unique about them, but with creative director Demna Gvasalia steering its engine we just can’t ever seem to give it too much serious consideration.

What you can take seriously is this — Balenciaga’s just launched a capsule collection in collaboration with Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter to deliver some great classics in colourways that’ll make anyone who sees you wearing them green with envy.
Balenciaga x Mr Porter Exclusive Capsule Collection
Oversized Printed Fleece-Back Cotton-Blend Jersey Hoodie, Embellished biker jacket, Like A Man Oversized Printed Denim Jacket, Speed Sock Stretch-Knit Slip-On Black Sneakers, Triple S Mesh, Nubuck and Leather Sneakers
Speaking of, this unique Triple S sneakers with lime highlights make the perfect footwear to play fantasy football because unless you didn’t have to save up for a pair of these Hypebeast gems they’re too precious to wreck. If you prefer sleeker architecture, these sock Speed Runners with red double B’s would in our opinion match up to the hoodie in the same shade and logo-form. We jokingly call the men’s leather jacket “Flower Power,” because… It’s great for looking cool on a bike ride or to order beer at three in the afternoon.
Balenciaga x Net-a-Porter Exclusive Capsule Collection
Checked wool and mohair-blend blazer, Oversized printed cotton-jersey hooded top, BB Round embroidered metallic textured-leather bag, Printed Dress, Knife metallic textured-leather mules
Women are finally getting their heyday, and what better way to say women can wear whatever they want with this comically ancient plaid blazer that cinches at the waist and balloons at the hips. Or how about this black ruffly maxi dress with silver chain details that’s hiding a grandma-green and measles-pink dotted interior? It’s always a tough decision between shoes and bags, so why not get this duo in the same colourway — the silver chain crossbody with “Balenciaga” almost tessellated across its surface would look crazy great with these kitten “knife” mules that made headlines in 2017?!
