Urban Decay sure knows its way around a makeup palette. From their red-hot Naked Heat Palette to the Heavy Metals Palette and the prismatic Distortion Palette, the irreverent beauty brand killed it in 2017, and by the looks of their latest collaboration, they’re about the slay 2018 all the same. Feast your eyes on the new Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne collection.
If you’re unfamiliar with Kristen Leanne and her bold oeuvre, she’s a beauty influencer who’s best known to nearly 800k Instagram followers for a number of things: her preference for bright colours when it comes to makeup, her cool “arctic fox” hair, that badass mermaid scale-esque neck tattoo, and of course, her infectious personality. We got to know her a little better when the neon eyeliner trend dominated the beauty scene earlier last year. It’s really not that difficult to see why she’s Urban Decay’s top pick when they decided to collaborate with a beauty influencer for the first time.
Kaleidoscope Dream Palette, $65
Let’s start with the most highly-anticipated product amongst the trio of palettes. The Kaleidoscope Dream palette left us with heart eyes at first sight – it features 11 vivid brights we came to expect, from a deep blue shimmer named “TRM” to a shocking green shade “Lime Time” and a shade inspired by her favourite beer “Corona”. There’s plenty to play with when it comes to this palette, and thanks to UD’s signature pigment-infused system, those colours really pop upon application.
Beauty Beam Highlight Palette, $55
Glowgetters would know that there’s nothing like a gleaming highlighter to top off any makeup look, and this right here could be the ultimate highlighter palette. We’d wear the gold-toned shades from the Beauty Beam Highlighter Palette individually, or blend them altogether for a megawatt glow. Its micronised, jet-milled formula translates to a silky, featherlight texture that goes on as smooth as the highlighter you’ll find in Urban Decay’s Naked Flushed palettes.
Daydream Eyeshadow Palette, $45
She may have carved a niche with her incredible rainbow makeup tutorials, but when she’s not experimenting with colour, Kristen creates the dreamiest neutral eye looks. Needless to say, she’s crafted a neutral palette with 5 shades when she’s looking to achieve matte perfection. As with every palette in the collection (and every UD palette ever), each shade from the Daydream Eyeshadow Palette is buttery to the touch and blends beautifully on the lids.
