An Exclusive Look Inside Converse’s One Star Collective Pop-up

What’s there not to love about Converse? It’s accessible, cheap, and incredibly stylish – try slapping on a pair of Chuck Taylor’s with any outfit; they almost always work. Plus, the brand has been around for ages, having started way back in 1908. It’s this timelessness that has firmly entrenched Converse in legendary territory.
That said; pulling off Converse is more than just about oozing style. It’s about attitude. And that’s something the brand conveyed with its One Star Collective Pop-up, which was actually part of its Rated One Star campaign that reached out to talented youth, all of whom are poised to shape the face of urban culture.

Of course, it goes without saying, the main highlight at the pop-up was the One Star series, which rose to prominence in the early 90’s as an alternative skate shoe.
And as for the featured talents, there was fashion designer Nathanael Ng (@wolfboynat), tattoo artist Jade Sparkles (@jadesparklestattoo), dancer Germaine (@6fingermeraki), and actor Xavier Ong (@ongxavier) gracing the event, sharing their stories about what it is that makes them “disruptive”.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at what went down in Singapore:
