Break All The Rules With Vans’ & Lazy Oaf’s Exclusive Collaboration

Two iconic rebellious tongue-in-cheek brands have joined hands to bring out a collection for those of us who prefer a little more mischievous take on life. Iconic skateboarding brand Vans and independent London-based apparel brand Lazy Oaf have launched a women-exclusive collaboration that will dress you from head to toe.
The whole collection comes in a black, white and pink palette, perfectly reflecting the aesthetics of masculine Vans and the cheeky and feminine Lazy Oaf. All the pieces also feature the skateboard brand’s classic black and white checkerboard pattern, seamlessly integrated with Lazy Oaf’s unique cuts, prints and elements. Why has this pair not collaborated before? They are a match-made in heaven.

The tops come in a range of hoodies, t-shirts, dresses and even a bodysuit. Slightly oversized and extremely comfy-looking, all the pieces from the collection are suited for lounging around on a cosy afternoon or for an edgy look fit for the streets.

When it comes to Vans, we can never leave out shoes. Four Classic Vans footwear styles wrap up the collaborative collection.

The Old Skool Platforms come in the classic black but upgraded with suede uppers and a pink Sidestripe. The laces come in the classic checkerboard print and the side of the platforms are embellished with novelty cutouts of three white hearts. Want something more feminine? The Vans Authentic has all-white uppers and laces, decorated with a dainty floral print. The soft canvas uppers are contrasted by the thick and black outsole for just a bit of edginess and contrast to feminine uppers.

The Vans Style 29 also gets a whole new look with this collaboration – a full pink canvas upper is paired with a bold blacklugged outsold and toe cap, finished off with “Sorry I’m Late” laces and a checkerboard inner lining of the shoe. The last footwear style is the Classic Slip-On which comes in an all-over checkerboard print, revamped to include the eyeball print motif and a pink foxing stripe around the shoe for a Lazy Oaf touch.

We should take advantage of our youth while we still can and release our energy and creativity the way we choose to express ourselves. While we’re young, we can still afford to be playful and be more unconventional and this collaboration exudes an air of teenage rebellion and quirkiness for a fun and playful collection.
