Remember the “Flying Noodles” trend? Where your noodles are served with magical levitating chopsticks that make it look like you’re dining with a ghost? Here’s a picture to remind you of what it is:
The restaurant that brought us much joy and Instagrammable pictures with their Flying Soba Noodles have now upped their game with instant noodles. These instant noodles are not your normal instant noodles that you can buy at your neighbourhood convenience mart – they are atas versions of your favourite instant noodles. Who knew that something that so simple as instant noodles could be zhng-ed until it became a meal worthy of being served at a proper restaurant?
From yesterday, the noodle dish has been rebranded as the Hana Pop Noodles due to a dispute with Nissin for using their branding as part of the dish, but you can be reassured that you’re getting the same noodles! These instant noodles have been given a much-deserved upgrade with top-grade toppings like crab, lobster and even some greens to become a proper, well-rounded meal in itself.
Previously served in their original packaging (as pictured), the noodles will now be served in its own Hana Pop Noodle Cup Source image
If you asked us, that $22 price tag on that Lobster Tom Yum Hana Pop Noodles ($22+) is worth it. Unlike the Lobster Ramen from Keisuke which just gives you lobster broth with no lobster meat in sight, the Lobster Tom Yum Hana Pop Noodles actually comes with Lobster meat. Other than Lobster meat, you can also choose to have the Chicken Laksa Hana Pop Noodles ($18+) or the Chili Crab Hana Pop Noodles ($18+).
The noodles are stir-fried before being cooked in the respective sauces like Tom Yum, Laksa or the Chili Crab sauce, and is served with a fried egg and your chosen meat – not that dehydrated bits that come with the cup . Your noodles will then be served in a cup like your usual cup noodles to retain the ‘eating-out-of-the-cup’ illusion even though you’re actually having a proper meal.
If you want to be more adventurous, you can also check out Nissin’s Chicken Nuggets And Fries Instant Noodles and other unusual instant noodles that’ll take your tastebuds on a ride.
