We’ve developed a sudden obsession for Hong Baos — and that’s because they get nicer and “more collectible” each year. Here are the 2019 luxury Red Packets we’d love to receive and keep:
1. CARTIER
The VIP set comes in a double layer box, and each angpao comes in two parts: the gold packet, and a red die-cut sleeve.
2. GIVENCHY
This also comes in a lovely box, and a matte, classy design.
3. SAINT LAURENT
Our unquestionable favourite from the lot: Minimalist Saint Laurent Red Packets that come in a cigarette case box (like the brand’s signature bag design).
4. VALENTINO
Just to be sure the recipient knows what the brand of the angpao is…
5. TOD’S
A slide-out gold drawer that reveals a die-cut red and gold design.
6. MCM
Here’s another beautiful matte finish, and just look at that flying gold pig!
7. MIU MIU
Also a matte finish, with a thick stock card inside to keep the packet stiff and unbent. And it says “Happy Miu Year”! Haha!
8. CHLOÉ
The front features a subtle UV spot varnish design that’s very elegant.
9. COACH
The Coach packet has a nice border design that still manages to look clean and classy — like the brand.
10. SHANGHAI TANG
You can mix and match the packet colour with an insert colour. Fancy, and cute.
11. HERMÈS
These little piggies come with ribbons, each of them bearing a different message! So you can choose your message!
12. DIOR
A straightforward design that will please the folks. Huat ah!
