Introducing The CHANEL 19 Bag

19 — a significant number for the luxury brand, an echo of famous creations, and also the start of something new. If you haven’t already known, CHANEL’s iconic 2.55 bag was created in February 1955 by Mademoiselle Chanel, which was how the bag got its name. The new CHANEL 19 bag is named in a similar fashion, paying tribute to its predecessor. The new accessory was first seen on the runways of the Fall/Winter 2019/20 ready-to-wear collection created by Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard, and soon, you’ll be able to get your hands on this desirable piece.

A bag that stays true to the brand’s essence, the rectangular flap bag is swathed with large diamond quilting on leather or on tweed. For added detail, the metal chain is interlaced with leather, and its links transition seamlessly from silver to aged gold to ruthenium. Of course, the bag also features the iconic double C fastener, recognisable anywhere you go.

This everyday companion comes in three sizes, and due to the length of its metal chain, it can be worn two ways — straight or cross-body. The large gold metal curb chain also means the bag can be held in the hand if you like. Stylish and rich in detail, the CHANEL 19 bag is elegant but also functional, embodying the pure spirit of CHANEL.

The CHANEL 19 bag will be available at all CHANEL boutiques from end September 2019 onwards.
