As an Asian, I can attest how tough it is to find a formula that gives you a beautiful, radiant glow without having to deal with that unsightly midday oil slick come mid-afternoon, considering how hot and humid our climate is at times. Could it be due to the serums I’m using or is it my foundation? Whatever the case is, when it comes to makeup, summer is kind of the worst.
However, recently, my interest piqued when Dior unveiled their latest Diorsnow collection — which featured a new range of revolutionary skincare and makeup options that focused on refining that ‘Asian Glow’ everyone’s been raving about.
Based on 20 years of research conducted by the Dior Asian Innovation Centres, the Diorsnow dubs itself as ‘The Glow Expert’ in leading a new frontier in the realm of beauty. Combined with Epigenetics, a new and unique scientific approach to skin luminosity, the newly launched beauty products see the inclusion of the key ingredient, Edelweiss, from the Dior garden in the Valais region in Switzerland — a key ingredient in the Diorsnow formulas.
For most of us, our skincare routines supersede our makeup routine, and it’s only because we can’t wear makeup all day long. And so, at the heart of the collection here, we find Diorsnow’s The Essence of Light Serum — which brightens the skin, protects your skin’s luminosity and reduces the appearance of dark spots.
Apart from that, there’s also the Ultimate UV Shield that delivers overall protection to the skin against UVA and UVB rays. Boasting an SPF 50+ PA++++, the sunscreen also prevents oxidative stress caused by harmful blue and infrared light and comes with a water-based formula that absorbs quickly whilst maintaining a breathable texture.
Delving deeper into the collection, we also found the brand’s first moisture-lock brightening compact foundation, the Perfect Light Compact. With a highly corrective formula that not only covers the skin with a perfectly smooth and even veil, but the finish from this foundation also allows the skin to remain soft and supple, revealing a nice, even and luminous complexion.
To top things off, the collection has also unveiled their makeup collection, dubbed Garden of Light, inspired by the delicacy and fresh colours of a Japanese garden and blossoming trees. As you take a closer look at the Diorskin Nude Luminizer Blushing Light, you will notice the pink Gingko leaf that’s embossed in the compact itself — symbolising the radiance and longevity in Japan.
Adding a soft rosy glow to your look, the Pink Sakura Lip Maximiser from the collection gives your puckers the lip’s a soft and natural tint with a soft shimmer, while the 5 Couleurs Gleam eyeshadow palette comes with an assorted range of rosy hues for a beautiful matte finish that brightens your peepers.
The Diorsnow 2020 Collection will be available at all Dior counters from March 2020.
