It’s been 20 years since BreadTalk was founded, and many of us grew up recognising the familiar aroma of the bakery. In celebration of their 20th anniversary, the homegrown brand has finally launched their official e-store, along with delicious new products, including new cakes and buns!
Despite having to delay the opening of their new Wheelock Place retail store to mid-July, the local brand, famous for their signature Pork Floss Buns, has been progressively launching new items during the Circuit Breaker period — you’ll recognise the tongue-in-cheek toilet roll lookalike ROFL Cake, now available on their e-store. Their newest selection also does not disappoint.
Following the theme of “Exploring Life’s Extraordinary”, BreadTalk’s international panel of chefs have created a range of products created with unique ingredients from around the world. Two cakes in particular caught our attention — the Granite Cake (from $27.60) and Brown Sugar Prune Cake (from $24.60). These minimalistic cakes were concocted with a mixture of Asian and western ingredients, with Granite featuring vanilla chiffon, Oreo black sesame New York Cheesecake and black sesame mousse, while Brown Sugar Prune showcases sweet, brown sugar mousse between layers of prune cake and prune fruit sauce.
We are also excited to try the Soo Cheesy ($2.20), a decadent bun filled with mozzarella cheese and a secret homemade cheese sauce that promises an Insta-worthy cheese pull, along with the Mala Twist ($4.20 for a pack of 6), spicy and cheesy breadsticks that become more addictive with every bite. Alongside at least 10 other savoury buns, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
