Staying indoors for most of us can get pretty stir-crazy but can you imagine having to observe the Circuit Breaker measures in a haunted house? That’s what the current owners of The Conjuring house have been experiencing since the spread of COVID-19, and they are extending an invitation to you to join them for a week.
If you’re a horror movie buff, you would be familiar with The Conjuring — the first instalment of the Conjuring franchise which brought the famous paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren to the silver screen. The film garnered a lot of attention when it was first released as it was based on a real case investigated by the real-life Warrens who helped the Perron family in 1971 to document the nightmarish incidents in their Rhode Island farmhouse that’s haunted by the spirit of a woman named Bathsheba Sherman.
Built in 1736, the farmhouse now houses the Heinzen family who will be opening their doors for a live-streaming event in collaboration with the paranormal online community The Dark Zone. The idea is to give curious individuals a look at how the family copes with the global pandemic while living amongst spirits in their home.
Being paranormal investigators themselves, the Heinzens have planned a week full of investigations, tests, seances and conjurings alongside a roster of paranormal heavy-weights who will join the family virtually via Livestream. These paranormal experts include hosts from paranormal shows on Travel Channel as well Andrea Perron, a survivor of the original Conjuring haunting.
The spooky Livestream event will begin broadcast at 12pm (ET) / 9am (PT) on Saturday, 9 May and run 24/7 for an entire week. While we had hoped to tune in for free, the Livestream event, unfortunately, requires a virtual ticket which you can purchase here for USD$19.99. A portion of the proceeds will go to these three COVID-19 related charities — World Central Kitchen, Gary Sinise Foundation, and GlobalGiving.
This Conjuring Livestream sounds like an easy way to spend the night at a haunted location without physically putting yourself in the situation. After all, nothing can get to you when you’re in the safety of your own home, right?
