The Longchamp x Pokémon Collection Features Pikachu Across Their Iconic Le Pliage® Bags

Longchamp has just announced a very exciting upcoming collaboration you’ll wanna bag asap — Pokémon! Gotta catch ’em all, indeed. In fact, it features the most famous Pokémon in all its electrifying glory, Pikachu, where the cute Japanese mascot can be found zipping about Longchamp‘s iconic Le Pliage® bag series. This also marks the brand’s first foray into the gaming and entertainment world.

Launching 13 October, in a joyful collection that will appeal to adults as well as the young at heart, the bags clash French elegance and kawaii in probably the most fun way possible, as we see the loyal electric-type mouse in all sorts of dynamic positions, raring to go.

The bags are available in four exclusive versions — most prominently, on the black-and-white LGP canvas that stars a cheery yellow Pikachu making multiple appearances on that signature graphic print. The bag styles here include the original-sized shoulder bag design, as well as a backpack, crossbody bag, and mini style.

For more subtlety, you can also expect embossed leather styles in black, red, or white; a numbered, limited edition; and a black canvas bag where a specially-designed Pikachu makes an appearance. Here, he’s wearing a jockey’s helmet that pays homage to the Longchamp logo and the heritage of the brand.

“Our Le Pliage bag has become a platform where all the different aspects of Longchamp can be expressed and can also take us to unknown places. We hadn’t explored entertainment and gaming before. It’s a very inspiring world, particularly with Pokémon and its iconic mascot, Pikachu. Our two worlds, real and virtual, blend perfectly in this collaboration,” says Sophie Delafontaine, Artistic Director at Maison Longchamp.

On top of that, gamers too get to rejoice as Longchamp will be crossing over to their world as well. Popular mobile game Pokémon GO will be celebrating the collaboration with a digital Longchamp backpack for your avatar, along with an in-game event timed during the Paris Fashion Week. Beginning Friday October 2 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time (GMT -7) and continuing through Thursday, October 8 at 10:00 p.m., certain fashionable Pokémon will be appearing in the wild, challenging Trainers in raids.
