The recognisable heart-and-eyes logo of the Converse and COMME des GARÇONS PLAY collaboration has been donning classic Converse silhouettes over the last 12 years, which says a lot about its well-loved designs. If we’re talking elevated everyday wear, having one of these in your wardrobe is pretty much a given. This time though, that cheeky signature stamp can be found on yet another classic sneaker — the Jack Purcell — which marks the first time in a decade that Rei Kawakubo‘s brand takes on the silhouette. These shoes will be available from 1 April 2021 at Dover Street Market Singapore.
Much of the original casual silhouette remains untouched, especially its distinctive “smile” on its toe cap, though this new version is remastered for stability and comfort, and comes fitted with a cushioned sockliner, insole, and high traction herringbone rubber sole. As for its look, the low-profile Jack Purcell sports oversized red or black heart logos along the heels and sides, all on a new canvas shade too, called the Silver Filigree. The contrasting shades are then complemented with Egret shoe laces and rubber toe caps.
