You’ve seen the pictures all over social media — now, here’s how to get a slot for what’s about to be the hottest attraction in town when it opens this August. In case you missed it, the Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) will be bringing its high-key, interactive experience to Singapore, the first time the US-based attraction is launching overseas, and will be located at Dempsey.
Singapore’s version will welcome 14 new, never-before-seen installations across a 60,000 square foot of space, “dedicated to the celebration and experience of enjoying ice cream”. This includes a local-inspired “Dragon Playground”, as well as a pink and yellow banana jungle, and the largest MOIC sprinkle pool ever. Guests will also be able to enjoy five unique ice cream treats as they are guided through the 60 to 90-minute experience by talented #TeamMOIC performers.
[UPDATED: 19 August 2021]
And here’s a sneak peek of Singapore’s own Museum of Ice Cream:
As you can see from the above photos and the following series taken during our media preview, we’ve got our own unicorn playground that’s modelled after the old-school tiled versions, and a second locally-inspired room, this time, paying homage to Potong ice cream. There’s also a beach-themed California Dreamin space drenched in pink sunset shades, as well as a retro Scream’s Diner complete with a jukebox so we can jam to all-time classics.
For even more local flavour, the ice cream treats at MOIC will come with familiar local twists — Pulut Hitam Potong ice cream, for instance, or Lemon Bliss Balls, Apple Pie Soft Serve, Lychee Bandung, and even Taro Milk Tea ice cream sandwiches.
