The Lacoste x Minecraft Collection Features A Pixelated Crocodile Logo

First it was Animal Crossing, Fortnite and Overwatch, and now Minecraft. The fashion world just can’t enough of virtual games it seems, the more 80s-inspired, the better, which is the case for this legendary collaboration. Lacoste has teamed up with Minecraft for what you can call a co-op, or a 35-piece collection featuring the expansive block-like environment of the sandbox game.

Launched earlier in Paris in March this year, the Spring/Summer 2022 collection debuts in Singapore on 15 March. As you can see from the vibrant campaign images, Lacoste has gone the extra mile to include actual gamers and enthusiasts to front the series, particularly those who embody the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play. They are: Mari Takeshi, Shelby Grace, music artist Broky Brawk and gaming video creator Scott Major.

For the collection itself, we’re encouraged to “play”, and mix and match pieces across unisex, men’s and women’s tops, bottoms, sportswear and accessories, that take you from behind the computer screen to an outdoor court. Iconic Minecraft details of pixelated graphics can be seen on caps, a set of cotton joggers, on sports bras and fleece hoodies alike.

While plenty of these are monochrome street style-inspired silhouettes, we also see more colourful Lacoste tennis classics of printed polos and t-shirts with a unique twist — a pixelated crocodile logo, the main mascot of Lacoste, redesigned by the Minecraft Creative Studio.

To celebrate the launch, campaign ambassador Scott Major has also created an actual “Croco Island Map” within the game, featuring landscapes such as a city, forest, beach, and a highly-necessary tennis court, as well as a giant croc that overlooks the entire new world. It is free to access by players from all around the world.
